Our Commitment to Faith

Our family loves the Lord and is committed to serving Him. Because of that, we attend church weekly. There’s something so grounding about showing up consistently—not just for ourselves, but as a family.

Being surrounded by a community of like minded believers who come as they are, bringing what they have, is such a gift. It sets the tone for our entire week and reminds us what truly matters.

Home Check

A “home check” is simply pausing to ask: What do we need this week?

  • Do we have enough food for meals and lunches?

  • Do we need fresh veggies or ingredients if the garden isn’t ready?

  • Are we stocked on essentials like dog food?

I also think about what foods I want easily accessible for the family which are simple, ready to go options like:

  • Egg salad

  • Cooked chicken

  • Prepped ingredients

It helps keep our home running smoothly without overcomplicating things.

Review the Week’s Schedule

I take time to mentally (and physically) review what’s ahead:

  • Appointments like the dentist

  • Realtor responsibilities and scheduled showings

  • Kids’ practices, games, or events

I check my planner and bring everything to the forefront of my mind so nothing sneaks up on us during the week.

Make Any Needed Lists

If there’s anything I plan to tackle during the week, I make a list ahead of time.

This might include:

  • Homeschool planning

  • Garden tasks

  • Animal care

  • Home projects (like cleaning out a closet)

Having it written down helps me stay focused and intentional instead of reactive.

Set Up for Monday

This is where the week really begins to take shape.

A few simple things make Monday feel smooth instead of rushed:

  • Lay out my gym clothes so I can just get up and go

  • Hard boil 1–2 dozen eggs for quick meals and my husband’s lunches

  • Keep our “house of ingredients” stocked with simple prepped foods

  • Write a loose meal plan on the dry erase board

  • Do a few loads of laundry so we have clean clothes and towels

  • Grind my coffee for the week (because fresh beans are non-negotiable )

None of this is complicated, but that’s the point. It’s about creating a simple, steady rhythm that supports your family, your home, and your faith. When Sundays are intentional, the entire week feels more peaceful, prepared, and purposeful. When the house has ready food to eat and lunches prepared it is calming and will make the week that much better. These rhythms are meant to help keep stress down and make thing more functional. Do you do something different or want to try this out? Reach out and let me know!
